Job Description Summary:

This is a Web Full-Stack Software Engineering role in a JS/Node/React/GraphQL tech stack. In this role, you’ll be working with a set of applications that utilizes latest of web technologies, data management systems and APIs

We are the Promotions Rewarding team, and we handle the Merchant experience for creation/management of rewards campaigns. As an engineer on this team, you’ll work on highly impactful and visible projects that enable PayPal Merchants to provide more rewarding experiences to the world.

Job Description:

As a software engineer on the Promotions Rewarding team, you will help build and enhance a suite of services and tools that allow PayPal Merchant to setup/manage campaigns which earn rewards for buyers in the PayPal ecosystem. We need you to assist us in developing high-quality, high-performing, secure applications and participate in all aspects of application development including design, coding, security, testing, and production releases. You will be delivering new features, reacting to customer feedback, helping to ensure quality, working closely with our product team, and ensuring compliance. You'll work closely with our Product team in an agile environment to bring features from conception to launch. Furthermore, you will participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and shared knowledge and collaborate with other teams across PayPal Shopping and Rewards to ensure transparency and effective delivery.
 

In your day-to-day role you will:

• Leverage your expertise of JS across the stack from front-end to back-end, to design, develop, test, and release software.

• Work on product features in a collaborative environment, but also be able to drive feature development and troubleshooting without guidance.

• Engage in discussions about the work we do and how we can optimize it, including providing design insight and code review feedback.

• Handle inquiries from rewards platform stakeholders and respond to service interruptions as part of our support rotation.

Skills required:

• Expert in JavaScript, ReactJS, GraphQL, TypeScript

• Knowledge of data structures, object-oriented design, algorithms, exception handling, and troubleshooting.

• Understanding of large-scale, highly available, and distributed systems.

• Proficient in writing Automated unit, integration, and functional test suites.

• Proficient in writing SQL and implementing database design.
