Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience in integrating text Large Language Model (LLM), multimodal LLMs, and other machine learning models into diverse training and serving systems.

Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technical direction for the AI Studio and Gemini API team. Lead strategic planning, road-mapping, and prioritization of key initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of software engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of robust and scalable AI software systems. Ensure adherence to best practices, code quality, and security standards.
- Partner with product managers, Technical Program Managers (TPMs), researchers, and engineers across Google to deliver successful project outcomes. Build relationships to achieve a shared outlook for AI products and services.
- Guide the team in exploring and adopting new technologies, tools, and methodologies.
