What we are looking for:

The Shipping Clerk will prepare orders for shipment, as well as perform required warehouse duties as assigned. The orders are to be processed following company procedures and instructions from the Shipping and Warehouse Manager. Orders will be packaged, documented, labeled, and if needed palletized in a professional and organized method to prevent damage during shipping. All work is to be done in a manner that represents the company to reflect quality and drive customer satisfaction. Documentation such as pack list, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and other material is to be checked for accuracy and included with the shipments. This role will be responsible for ensuring the correct parts are shipped per the sales order and in a timely manner. This position will require someone who pays attention to detail and is focused in their work.

Responsibilities:

• Process orders in company ERP system for shipment according to department protocols.
• Process to ship via FedEx, UPS, DHL, LTL as noted on order.
• Photograph, label, and package orders for shipment.
• Prepare pallets for shipping (strapping and wrapping) on approved pallets.
• Follow company document management for all shipments.
• Keep the manager informed of any issues or delays in the Production/Shipping process.
• Willingness to cross train in other Production positions, as necessary.
• Willingness to learn shipping programs and documented processes.
• Comfortable using basic tools.
• Keep the shipping area, warehouse, and dock area clean which will include emptying waste bins and sweeping/mopping. Maintain the area in an organized and safe manner.
• Assist in receiving as needed including stock put-aways and production stock pulls.
• Successfully complete and maintain company forklift certification
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience in a shipping and receiving environment.
• Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data, creating documentation, and composing emails – Example: Outlook, Excel, Windows programs.
• Experience using an ERP system.  NetSuite a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic math and recording skills.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Flexible – able to multi-task and/or shift focus based on management defined priorities.

Work Environment:

• Warehouse/Production Setting
• Moderate to high noise levels (i.e. warehouse with power tools, machinery, high traffic)
• Ability to sit or stand (standing desk provide upon request) at a workstation terminal for an extended period.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (talk/sign/type/write) and operate a computer, telephone (or alternative), keyboard (or typing device), etc.
• Regular, predictable attendance is required
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
• Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
