Job Description
As a Software Engineer, Android, Photos at Google, you'll contribute to the development and maintenance of Google Photos. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, ensuring best practices, contributing to documentation, debugging system issues, participating in design reviews, and working on projects critical to Google's needs. You'll work with Android application development, large-scale systems, and potentially contribute to accessible technologies. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and collaboration with other engineers and stakeholders. You will manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining and enhancing software solutions.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years experience with data structures/algorithms
- 2 years software development experience (or 1 year with advanced degree)
- Android app development experience
- Code review and debugging skills
Good to have:
- Master's/PhD in CS
- Experience with large-scale systems
- Performance analysis and visualization experience
- Experience developing accessible technologies

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an
academic or industry setting. - 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
- 2 years of experience with Android application development.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
