The Sourcing Specialist II at WDI's Technology Studio partners with internal collaborators to manage the procurement process for multi-million dollar annual spend on software, technology services, and hardware. Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating suppliers, leading competitive bidding processes (RFPs), negotiating contracts (including master agreements), managing supplier relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., FCPA), implementing contract changes, and improving processes. The role requires strong negotiation skills, experience with technology procurement, and collaboration with various internal teams (legal, information security, finance, etc.).
Must have:
  • 3+ years strategic sourcing experience in software and technology
  • Contract negotiation expertise (SaaS, indemnification, etc.)
  • RFP/bidding process management
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Regulatory compliance (FCPA)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
Good to have:

As part of the Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Technology Studio Strategic Sourcing Team, you’ll partner with the best in the business to pursue new insights and technologies to help the Company’s many businesses drive value, with the overall mission being to steer compliance with internal policies and procedures, protect the Disney brand through risk mitigation and partner with the best the marketplace has to offer. What You Will Do

We partner with business collaborators within the WDI Technology Studio (within Theme Parks and Resorts) to provide the prime oversight, support and implementation for the entire procurement process of multi-million dollar annual spend of software and technology service and hardware providers. We improve the value of and mitigate risks associated with technology-related procurement through smart contract negotiations. This includes strategically handling the spend through category and supplier relationship management, writing contracts, running RFPs, negotiating deals including master agreements, handling suppliers, ensuring regulatory compliance including FCPA and insurance, facilitating process improvements and bringing collaborators together for teamwork to leverage opportunities.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Serve as the primary to work with many research and service providing suppliers, working within the areas of engineering and technology

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify category-specific suppliers, and other consultants based on a defined selection criterion

  • Own the competitive bidding processes (RFP) in accordance with TWDC policy and procedures, including sole/single/preferred source evaluation

  • Lead spends and contract negotiations for standalone as well as longer-term engagements

  • Implement contracts, change orders, work orders, amendments, etc. with post-award administration

  • Assist, implement and influence supplier performance management programs that focus on contractual responsibility, quality, responsiveness and cost

  • Ensure compliance with Strategic Sourcing policies and standard processes

  • Communicate and report to management the status of any critical external relationships and/or constraints that could affect planning and decision-making

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3 years or more of strategic sourcing experience, with experience in software and technology procurement services.

  • Proficient in the negotiation of key contractual language/terms and conditions (i.e. indemnification, SaaS, audit rights, ownership, etc.)

  • Proven record demonstrating integrity and ethics in all instances

  • Ability to engage and establish confidence and positive relationships with senior leadership and all position levels; both internal and external

  • Sophisticated analytical, problem-solving and time management skills

  • Refined written and verbal communication, and proficient presentation abilities

  • Proven record of meeting commitments and prioritization in a schedule-driven environment

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment (i.e., legal, information security, finance, risk management, etc.) and desire to work in a diverse and inclusive environment

  • Internal partner focus – ability to identify/solicit key partner needs and develop and implement strategies, processes and solutions

  • Validated ability to quickly master new systems/platforms and tools

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Experience working with and/or for firms who provide professional or engineering services, technology, and software

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP software

  • Proficient working in Microsoft 365

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, supply chain, finance or another associated field.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technology, supply chain, business or another related field preferred

  • Legal and/or IT background/knowledge desired

The hiring range for this position in Glendale & Anaheim, CA is $94,200 to $115,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
