Intel Foundry Services (IFS) is an independent foundry business that is established to meet our customers' unique product needs. With the first Open System Foundry model in the world, our combined offerings of wafer fabrication, advanced process, and packaging technology, chiplet, software, robust ecosystem, and assembly and test capabilities help our customers build their innovative silicon designs and deliver full end-to-end customizable products from Intel's secure, resilient, and sustainable source of supply.
As a System Architect and Design Engineer Intern, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Research, evaluate and develop a state-of-the-art machine learning hardware accelerator architecture and design.
Provide a comprehensive view of solutions and supporting pre- and post-silicon activities in multiple domains.
Lead systems innovations to advance model efficiency for both edge and cloud deployments.
Rigorous in-depth workload driven architecture exploration and design optimization using both IP level and system level simulation and emulation techniques. Impact and influence the artificial intelligence (AI) product roadmap and development based on profound comprehension of AI and ML algorithms, ML customer requirements, and ML software frameworks.
Collaborate with product and algorithm teams to analyze next generation requirements and opportunities and influences and guides research and academic collaboration in the space of AI and ML.
Perform activities related to platform research in ML, such as compute in memory, on-device learning, edge-cloud distributed learning, and quantum ML. Develops complex performance and power models using ML/AI techniques. Collect and analyze design performance and power data on pre and post-silicon platforms using simulation and emulation and by developing the enabling firmware, software, tools, and automation solutions.
Work closely with various teams including customer facing and architectural design teams to explore and validate the performance and power of the next generation of silicon products for Intel product teams and Intel foundry customers.
This is a Hybrid role that requires weekly on-site presence in our Santa Clara office. Ideally we would like to have this internship start in January 2025 or earlier.
