Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will manage the outcomes for one large or multiple smaller data center sites in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You will demonstrate knowledge of managing business operations across data center domains, ensuring availability and reliability exceeding defined SLAs/SLOs. Responsibilities include implementing communication standards, establishing program review cadences, leading governance structures, identifying change management opportunities, and defining/managing a program portfolio impacting the organization. You will guide teams in developing solutions, maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting mission-critical data center infrastructure. The role requires collaboration with multiple cross-functional teams to implement short-term and long-term strategy and process changes. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 8 years of experience in program management and infrastructure work are minimum requirements. Experience with hyperscale data center solutions and site construction management is preferred.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in technical field
8 years program management experience
8 years infrastructure experience
Manage data center site outcomes
Ensure SLA/SLO exceedance
Lead cross-functional teams

Good to have:

Master's degree in engineering
Hyperscale data center experience
Site construction management experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in program management.
8 years of infrastructure work experience.

Preferred qualifications:

Master degree in Engineering relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Experience in engineering, delivery and execution of hyperscale data center solutions.
Experience in site construction management for industrial buildings.

In this role, you will manage the outcomes for one large or multiple smaller data center sites. You will demonstrate knowledge of the management process of business operations across data center domains and ensure overall availability and reliability that meets or exceeds defined service level agreements (SLAs/SLOs). Plan for operation through testing conditions. You will be contributing to building, and driving the success of adopting standards and programs.

You will guide the team in developing solutions to ambiguous issues while leading others in maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting mission-critical data center servers, network and associated equipment with multiple cross-functional partner teams and project leads to implement short-term and long-term strategy and process changes.

Responsibilities

Implement communication standards across a portfolio of programs including executive and key partner communications.
Establish a reliable and visible cadence for program reviews, decision-making, prioritization, and Resource Stewardship (effective deployment of machine and people resources) improvements such as efficiency and utilization gains are measurable and the impact can be felt organization wide.
Lead a governance structure that drives executive decision-making. Ensure governance structure exposes and mitigates dependencies.
Identify change management opportunities that increase program velocity and which affect multiple teams.
Define/manage a program portfolio solving problems that goals business impact for the organization and product area.
