Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with mobile feature development processes.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

As Technical Program Managers within the Chrome Browser team, you will provide program management partnership cross-functionally. You will lead, organize, and manage projects and programs, in collaboration with Development, Product, and User Experience leads, that drive business outcomes, while proactively developing systems to drive future optimizations.

We’re focused on making a better browser (on both desktop and mobile) to help users take advantage of all the web has to offer in a safe and secure way.Chrome is available across all major platforms — iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS. We also built Chrome as an open source project so the entire web ecosystem could benefit from the latest innovations in speed, simplicity and security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams of developers, product managers, and UX designers/researchers in executing projects and programs from concept to launch, including planning, tracking progress, identifying and resolving issues, and managing dependencies.
  • Design and roll-out processes and tools to increase the velocity of development teams, and the quality of product launches.
  • Provide program management leadership for the portfolio of priorities and establish effective partnerships cross-functionally.
  • Deliver continuous and transparency to keep core team members aligned, and stakeholders informed.
  • Leverage an understanding of mobile feature development to identify and build new operational improvements and processes.
