The Training & Placement Officer is responsible for facilitating the placement of students in internships, jobs, and professional opportunities. This role involves building relationships with potential employers, organizing career development programs, and guiding students through the placement process, ensuring they are adequately trained for industry requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, networking, and organizational skills to bridge the gap between industry demands and student skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Industry Partnerships:
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate recruiters, HR professionals, and potential employers to create placement opportunities for students.
- Coordinate with industries and companies to organize campus recruitment drives and off-campus interviews.
- Student Training & Development:
- Design and implement training programs (e.g., mock interviews, resume building, soft skills training) to enhance students’ employability.
- Guide students in preparing for interviews, group discussions, aptitude tests, and professional assessments.
- Counsel students on career pathways and placement opportunities aligned with their interests and skills.
- Placement Process Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end placement process, from inviting companies to campus to coordinating interviews and final offer placements.
- Ensure timely scheduling and smooth execution of campus recruitment activities.
- Maintain placement records and regularly report on placement statistics and success rates.
- Alumni Relations:
- Build and strengthen relationships with alumni to leverage their networks for placement and training opportunities.
- Coordinate alumni interaction sessions and seek support in job placements or mentorship.
- Employer Feedback & Curriculum Enhancement:
- Gather feedback from employers and recruiters on the performance of placed students.
- Collaborate with academic departments to enhance the curriculum based on industry trends and feedback from recruiters.
- Event Organization:
- Organize career fairs, workshops, guest lectures, and corporate visits to provide exposure to students.
- Plan and execute seminars and webinars on emerging industry trends and career opportunities.
Key Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor's/Master’s degree in any relevant field (preferably in HR, Business Administration, or Education).
- Proven experience in training, placement, or career services (experience in education or recruitment sector preferred).
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in managing databases and placement tracking systems.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to mentor students effectively.
Preferred Experience - 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in education, corporate training, or HR.
- Knowledge of current industry trends, recruitment practices, and talent needs across various sectors.
