Job Title: VP – Solution Architect, Financial Services

(Capital Markets & Financial Services focus)

Snapshot:

•  Reports to: VP & Chief Architect, Financial Services 

•  Mission: Own end to end solution architecture for Tier 1 Capital Markets and Financial Services engagements, partnering with sales, delivery, and product teams to land, design, and launch modern, cloud native platforms. 

•  Outcomes: Accelerate deal velocity, de risk delivery, and lift client NPS—all while mentoring squads to “think architecture” every sprint. 

Core Responsibilities – “What you’ll be doing day in, day out”

Must‑Have Experience – the Hard Skills

• 7–10 yrs engineering/architecture across Financial‑Services platforms.
• Domain depth in at least one:
• Capital Markets: order/risk management, trade processing, market data, or derivatives.
• Mortgage Banking: LOS, LMS, securitization, MISMO 3.x/Day 1Certainty.
• Cloud chops: AWS or Azure (well‑architected frameworks, serverless, container platforms, IaC).
• Data muscle: streaming (Kafka/Kinesis), time‑series DBs, analytics meshes; SQL + NoSQL; familiarity with Delta Lake/Iceberg a plus.
• Messaging & APIs: FIX/FAST, SWIFT, ISO 20022, GraphQL/REST, event‑driven patterns.
• Reg‑tech lens: GDPR, SEC, OCC, CFPB—know the alphabet soup and how to bake controls into pipelines.

Nice‑to‑Have / Rocket Fuel

• Hands‑on Python/Java/Kotlin in production FS systems.
• ML/AI enablement (fraud, credit scoring, algo‑trading).
• Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir Foundry, or Thought Machine experience.
• Prior pre‑sales / consultative background—comfortable on the deal desk.

Mindset & Soft Skills – the Secret Sauce

• “Architect‑in‑the‑Trenches.” You sketch on a whiteboard at 9 a.m. and debug a pipeline at 5 p.m.
• Executive presence. Can brief a CIO without breaking a sweat.
• Storytelling flair. Turn tech‑speak into business value—“show, don’t tell.”
• Bias for action. When in doubt, prototype.
• Servant leader. Grow squads, not egos.
