Job Description

As an Aircraft Wiring Technician at Wisk, you will be part of the Final Assembly Team, responsible for assembling a new type of aircraft for the autonomous UAM market. You will support aircraft integration, maintenance, operation, modification, and repair of a prototype electric aircraft. Key responsibilities include building and installing wiring harnesses and avionics systems, troubleshooting issues, and following standardized work processes. You will also be responsible for tool control and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role requires collaboration with team members and engineers.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of industry experience in aerospace or automotive
  • Experience with wire harness fabrication and repair
  • Ability to read and interpret harness drawings.
  • Ability to work with engineers during integration and testing
  • Experience with aerospace/automotive wiring tools and practices
  • Experience routing and installing wiring harnesses
  • Strong knowledge of assembly and installation processes
  • Familiar with functional systems checks
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Fluent with mechanical and electrical assembly procedures
  • Willingness to travel for ground and flight testing
Good to have:
  • Experience in an R&D prototype aircraft environment
  • Experience working in assembly line
  • Soldering skills
  • Familiar with composite aircraft and material handling
  • A&P license
  • Familiar with NAVAIR 01-1A-505−1, AC43.13-1B, NASA-STD 8739.X, or equivalent

We are looking for an Aircraft Wiring Technician to join our team. The goal of an Aircraft Wiring Technician at Wisk is to ensure that wire harnesses are built per the drawing, inspected, tested and installed on the aircraft. You will be part of the Final Assembly Team team that conducts final integration of our Wisk aircraft.

Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Hollister office.

What you will do:

    • As part of the Production System organization, and deployed in a Final Assembly Shop, you will be assembling a novel type of aircraft targeting the autonomous UAM market
    • You will support aircraft integration, maintenance, operation, modification, and repair of a prototype electric aircraft.
    • You will be responsible for following standardized work processes, specifications and best practices.
    • You will work closely with team members and engineers to build and install wiring harnesses and avionics systems, along with troubleshooting issues

Requirements:

    • Minimum 3 years industry experience in aerospace or automotive
    • You are experienced with wire harness fabrication and repair
    • You are able to read and interpret harness drawings for harness fabrication
    • You have the ability to work closely with engineers during prototype integration, testing and troubleshooting
    • You are experienced with aerospace/automotive wiring harness tools/equipment and best practices
    • You will perform tool control, eliminate Foreign Object Debris, and keep your work area clean, organized, and free of any dangerous and/or hazardous material.
    • You have experience routing and installing wiring harnesses on aircraft/vehicles
    • You have a strong and applied knowledge of complex assembly and installation processes, such as build record documentation, quality systems, and manufacturing execution systems
    • You are familiar with functional systems checks and non-conformity processes 
    • You work well independently and in teams
    • You are fluent with mechanical and electrical assembly procedures
    • You are willing to travel with the aircraft to support ground and flight testing

Desired:

    • Experience working in an R&D prototype aircraft development environment
    • Working in assembly line a plus
    • Soldering skills 
    • Familiar with composite aircraft and material handling practices
    • A&P license

$32 - $37 an hour

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $32 - $37 per hour- The starting base rate within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
