About the Role:
As an Associate Product Security Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team that enables Google’s business by securing our products and services. You’ll work with the product engineering, security, privacy, legal, and policy teams to identify security risks and provide technical guidance to drive security improvements across the product lifecycle. You will play a critical role in helping us protect our users and their data at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Perform security reviews of product designs, architecture, and implementation.
- Analyze product security threats and propose mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with product teams to drive security improvements.
- Stay up to date with the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Identify and drive remediation of product security vulnerabilities.
- Provide guidance and training to engineering teams on security best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: software engineering, security engineering, application security, penetration testing.
- Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities, threats, and mitigation techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with security testing tools and methodologies.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services).
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or OSCP.
- Experience with data security and privacy.
