The Role
We are looking for an Associate Software Developer to join our London-based Production Technology team - you'll be involved in creating and maintaining software applications, working closely with other developers, and participating in the full software development lifecycle.
Your main focus in this role will be to participate in the development and maintenance of software applications. You'll collaborate with your teammates to write clean, efficient code, and assist in the software testing process to identify and resolve issues. Your role will involve troubleshooting and debugging software problems, understanding project requirements, and implementing solutions.
You’ll also be:
Attending team meetings, providing status updates, and actively participating in discussions related to project progress
Participating in code reviews to maintain quality of code, identify potential issues and ensure adherence to coding standards as well as contributing towards technical documentation
Staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies
Seeking guidance from other team members and proactively engage in learning opportunities to enhance skills
Understanding of relevant programming languages (eg. Python, PHP, Javascript)
Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
Familiarity with software development tools and version control systems such as Git
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Experience working in a containerised environment such as Docker or Podman
Experience working with web servers such as Apache or Nginx
Knowledge of the inner workings of Linux, comfortable using a shell
Knowledge of web frameworks such as Django or Flask
An understanding of JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular
Experience working in a production environment
An understanding of cloud-based technologies
Work Arrangements
At Framestore, we offer a flexible work arrangement where employees have the option to split their work time between home and office. For this role, 1 day a week in office is required so candidates should be able to commute easily when necessary. Unfortunately, VISA sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.
