Back End Engineer

We’re looking to hire a Backend Engineer for a fast-growing technology company. You’ll join the Engineering team to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services that power high-impact applications. This is a full-time opportunity. The role is located in New York, and is fully remote.

Backend Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale, distributed systems using Java and Go.
• Optimize performance and reduce manual work through automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Manage the full lifecycle of services, from inception through deployment and ongoing operation.
• Monitor live services to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Scale systems sustainably through automation and drive improvements in reliability and speed.

Backend Engineer Requirements:

• Proven experience in Java development with a strong focus on backend engineering.
• Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, including data modeling and database management.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with observability and reliability tools, such as Prometheus, and large-scale time series databases.
• Knowledge of Go and k8s operators is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Understanding of CI/CD processes and DevOps practices.

To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week and the length of assignment must be a minimum of 10 weeks.
