BI Developer

General Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to create impactful dashboard and report visualizations while supporting data integration efforts across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will contribute to various Business Intelligence (BI) projects, leveraging their technical expertise and business acumen to design and implement solutions that align with strategic initiatives and operational requirements. Experience with data science is plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dashboard and Report Development: Create dynamic and visually appealing dashboard/report visualizations to meet business requirements.
• Business Intelligence Project Contributions:
  • Apply a deep understanding of business processes, functional requirements, and system technologies to configure, develop, and support BI solutions and integrations.
  • Identify gaps, design solutions, and deploy process and technology improvements to address operational needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop functional and technical specifications and assist with application configuration.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into effective technology solutions, creating clear technical design specifications.
  • Lead iterative solution design and prototyping efforts, ensuring solutions meet business objectives.
  • Develop system and end-user documentation to support implementations, incident resolution, and system enhancements, and provide knowledge transfer to team members as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and user groups to ensure timely delivery of all project deliverables.
• Production Support: Provide day-to-day production support and off-hours assistance as required.
• Project Coordination: Manage all aspects of information systems projects, including planning, design, implementation, and ongoing management.
• Independence in Execution: Perform tasks with minimal direction, demonstrating a high level of independence and responsibility.
• Data science skill is plus

Essential Skills and Experience

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in intermediate to advanced T-SQL and PL/SQL.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, including normalization and star/snowflake schema designs.
• Expertise in data validation, including anomaly detection and checksum processes.
• Solid experience with ETL processes and data integration.
• Familiarity with data visualization principles and design thinking for creating impactful BI dashboards.
• Familiarity with Power BI and DAX functions (must have).

Other Skills

• Knowledge of cloud applications and data security best practices.
• Experience developing and maintaining best practices for BI processes, including:
  • Requirements gathering.
  • Project management.
  • User acceptance testing.
  • Version control.
  • Support, maintenance, and documentation.

Personal Skills

• Willingness to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Communication skills, both written and verbal (English).
