Role Scope and Purpose
The Bid & Project Controller - Industry is responsible for:
- Overseeing all financial matters for the product costing and industrialisation business strategies involving deliveries of products or services
- Providing financial direction based on relevant, timely and accurate financial information in order to manage the risks and increase the value for shareholders;
- Supporting Operations through the preparation and validation of all economic and accounting information for production and inventory management and anticipates the necessary cost control actions with the objective of reduced costing through implementation of appropriate monitoring tools
- Establishes the financial control rules and ensure they are correctly applied
- Initialising the project (reviewing the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost
Breakdown Structure (CBS), allocating the total budget, implementing management tools and structuring management of risks and opportunities), defining the sales and margin recognition method - Analysing the costs variances vs standard, utilisation and efficiency factors,
evaluating the costs of non-quality and monitoring corrective action plan deployment. - Checking inventories and validating the valuation of inventory and industrial work in progress and ensuring accurate & timely reconciliations and analysis at month-end.
- Coordinating the analysis, update, monitoring and reporting the project’s financial components.
Required Experience and Skills
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent degree in Accounting and member of professional accounting body.
- Experience with Cost & Project Accounting in a manufacturing organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in continuously optimising business performance and processes, be solutions focused.
- Strong communication and business partnering skills.
- Sound experience in managing various stakeholders including senior managers.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
