Job Description

As a Customer Engineer I, you'll partner with technical sales teams as a data analytics expert, differentiating Google Cloud to customers. You'll help prospective and existing clients understand Google Cloud's capabilities, develop cloud solutions, conduct proofs of concept, and troubleshoot technical issues related to the data lifecycle. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, resolving technical blockers, sharing data analytics expertise, supporting bid responses, and working directly with Google Cloud products. You'll also prepare and deliver sales messaging highlighting Google Cloud's value proposition.

Must have:

4+ years cloud native architecture experience
Experience with data warehousing, processing, transformation, governance
Proficient in SQL, NoSQL, ETL/ELT, data migration
Excellent communication & presentation skills
Customer relationship building & management

Good to have:

Experience with data lakes, real-time processing, streaming
Data visualization tools expertise
Cloud computing (infrastructure, storage, platforms) knowledge
Technical sales or consulting experience
Understanding customer requirements & designing technical architectures

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
Experience with analytics warehousing, data processing, data transformation, data governance, data migrations, ETL, ELT, SQL, NoSQL, performance, scalability optimizations, or batch versus streaming.
Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Experience prospecting, building, and maintaining customer relationships.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch/real-time event processing, streaming, data processing (ETL/ELT), data migrations, data visualization tools, and data governance on cloud native architectures.
Experience with aspects of cloud computing (infrastructure, storage, platforms and data), as well as the cloud market, competitive dynamics and customer buying behavior.
Experience in understanding customer requirements with the ability to break down requirements and design technical architectures.
Experience with architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems.
Experience in technical sales or consulting in cloud computing or data analytics.

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams as a data analytics subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks related to database migrations, data back ends and all aspects of the data lifecycle.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities related, understand key customer objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers, in relation to aspects of the data lifecycle.
Share in-depth data analytics expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
Prepare and deliver sales messaging in an effort to highlight the Google Cloud value proposition, using techniques such as whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers and RFI responses.
