Description

We are seeking a seasoned Director Accounting Operations with over 20 years of experience, ideally within the IT or ITES industry. The successful candidate will be a Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant, skilled in overseeing complex financial processes, and adept at managing teams across payroll, commission, and inventory functions. This role demands a strategic leader who can drive efficiency, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to the organization’s growth by providing insightful financial analysis and oversight.
 
What you’ll do:  
Team Leadership and Development: 
  • Manage and mentor a finance team responsible for payroll, commission, and inventory (cost accounting), with direct oversight of a team of five or more professionals.
  • Set team goals, monitor performance, and foster professional growth to ensure a high level of service and accountability.
Payroll Management: 
  • Oversee payroll processing for USA and international entities. Ensuring timely and accurate payments along with all compliances
  • Accounting and its analysis. Need Audit co-ordination
  • Implement controls and best practices to streamline payroll operations, improve accuracy, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work with HR to ensure payroll policies align with company objectives and employee satisfaction.
Commission payments: 
  • Oversee commission plan, process and commission calculations, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Implement controls and best practices to streamline commission operations,
Inventory and Cost Accounting: 
  • Oversee inventory accounting processes, including cost analysis, valuation, and management reporting.
  • Develop cost accounting strategies that align with organizational financial goals, enhancing transparency and efficiency in inventory management.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination 
Compliance and Audit Preparation: 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, including internal policies and procedures.
  • Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits, serving as the primary contact to facilitate audit processes smoothly and accurately.
Process Improvement and ERP Optimization: 
  • Identify and implement process improvements across payroll, commission, and inventory accounting functions.
  • Oversee the use of ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar) to enhance reporting, streamline workflows, and ensure data integrity.
  • Adequate Excel skill
Data Analysis and Strategic Insights: 
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and risks, providing actionable insights to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate financial metrics into operational strategies.
Financial Reporting and Compliance with US GAAP:
  • Ensure that all accounting processes adhere to US GAAP standards financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date ledger accounts and reconciliatoins
 
 
What you’ve done:   
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA) certification required.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in IT or ITES sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing payroll, commission, and inventory accounting functions, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing teams.
Who you are:   
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of payroll and cost accounting software, along with experience implementing financial process improvements.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a proven ability to motivate and guide team members.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness and ability to pick up new stuff with good attitude
