Enterprise API Architect

We are seeking an experienced Integration Architect with a strong background in API utilization and leadership in guiding large businesses through the journey of API adoption. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with API platforms such as Mulesoft or Apigee, a deep understanding of security and proactive monitoring, and a focus on designing efficient and effective solutions.
This role will help define our API Strategy and architect the implementation of that strategy. It will also establish the operational policies and procedures for the use of API across the application environment within Aristocrat, working closely with the wider integrations team, application development teams and external customer partners.

What You'll Do

• Lead the creation and implementation of the API Strategy, including design principals, standards, security policies and monitoring practices. 
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of integration solutions using APIs.
• Guide and mentor the organization through the journey of adopting APIs, ensuring alignment with our key objectives – Security, Scalability, Speed to Market and M&A efficiencies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define integration strategies within IT and across other business teams.
• Utilize and drive the adoption of API platforms such as Mulesoft or Apigee to build robust and scalable integration solutions.
• Lead the Enterprise API stack design and influence application solution architecture to leverage API and service orientated designs.
• Implement and enforce security best practices to protect data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Develop and maintain proactive monitoring systems to ensure the health and performance of integration solutions.
• Focus on creating efficient and effective designs that meet business needs and drive operational excellence.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in API technologies and integration practices.
• Ensure API Documentation is maintained in LeanIX Aristocrat’s architecture tool.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Significant experience in designing and implementing API-based integration solutions.
• Significant experience in utilizing microservices and service orientated architecture.
• Proven track record of leading a global business through the API adoption journey.
• Expertise in using API platforms such as Mulesoft or Apigee.
• Strong understanding of security principles and experience in applying security measures to integration solutions.
• Experience with proactive monitoring tools and techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design efficient, scalable solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in different geographical locations.
• Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Demonstrated experience documenting application architecture in UML 
• Certifications in Mulesoft, Apigee, or related technologies.
• Experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
• Experience with LeanIX
