Financial Analysts at Google ensure sound financial decisions are made. This role involves modeling business scenarios, tracking performance metrics, and contributing to strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects simultaneously, you'll focus on details while finding creative solutions to larger challenges. The Finance team at Google provides in-depth analysis for strategic decisions across Google products. This role involves developing forward-thinking analysis, generating management reports, scaling automated financial processes, and serving as a key partner and advisor to the business. This role is focused on enhancing Financial data systems and processes. Responsibilities include leading discovery and design efforts, translating system feedback from end users into actionable requirements for Engineering, executing robust change management, partnering with stakeholders, evaluating financial data systems within Google Cloud, identifying opportunities for new features, process automation, and risk-mitigating controls. The ideal candidate will be able to proactively recommend improvements and troubleshoot production issues.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience
- 7 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, or Finance transformation
- 3 years of experience writing SQL scripts and navigating datasets and pipelines
- Experience with financial data systems architecture and controls, including working with financial statements and journal entries
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, and influencing executive leaders
Good to have:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and audits
- Experience in applying statistical methods, SQL, dashboard design with excellent data analysis skills
- Understanding of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, S4 Hana) standard Source-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Financials and Payroll business processes
- Understanding of GAAP accounting principles, including business recognition
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, solve complex issues, and work with engaging priorities and stakeholder management

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead discovery and design efforts to further enhance Financial data systems or processes. Leverage Finance and Accounting expertise to translate systems feedback from end users into actionable and prioritized requirements for Engineering.
- Execute robust change management, including moderating operating committee forums to keep executives and cross-functional systems decision-makers informed of roadmaps and project status, development and testing outcomes, and production support issues. Partner with a diverse set of stakeholders to get things done, from Finance and Accounting to Business Operations and Engineering.
- Evaluate financial data systems as a part of ecosystem within Google Cloud, producing documentation and process flows, identifying opportunities for new features, process automation, and risk-mitigating controls. Build comprehension of Financial data systems as evidenced by the ability to proactively recommend improvements and quickly troubleshoot production issues.
