Job Description:
A FX Artist, under supervision, creates photoreal, digitally generated imagery with seamless integration of computer-generated special effects like particle effects, smoke, fire, water, cloth, crowds that meet high quality standard in Feature Films, TV, and Games.
A FX Artist is creative with basic knowledge of full CG process, technical skill, and standard industry tools to create cutting-edge special visual effects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Able to create cutting-edge special effects, including particle effects, dynamic simulations and shader effects that meet project requirement, for team lead / supervisor’s approval on a dailies basis
- Able to do pre-comp for the special effects created
- Work closely with teammates and team lead to maintain consistent process and visual quality
- Able to meet the project requirements
- Able to meet deadlines
- Effectively communicate issues regarding their shots and seek advises from seniors and team lead
- Actively seek information to get a clear understanding upon receiving feedback from the seniors and team lead
- Able to QC own works
Job Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of experiences in creating special effects for Feature Films, TV, and Games
- Good knowledge in in Maya, Houdini, Realflow, and After Effects
- Experience with using 3DMax, FumeFx, PFX, Krakatao, Massive, Miarmy, Marvelous Designer, Nuke and other special effects tools will be a plus
- Experience in scripting and tool development using MEL, Python, C++, Java, Hscript will be a plus
- Basic understanding of full CG development processes, different special effect techniques, and pipelines with strong analytical mind to transform abstract ideas into compelling effects.
- Basic technical knowledge in particle effects, dynamic simulation, and shader effects
- Basic knowledge of physics and natural phenomena
- Attention to details
- Good knowledge of directory structure, file formats, naming conventions and automation tools
- Good communication skills, able to take direction positively
- Ability to work in a team with no conflicts
- Eager to learn and willing to accept new opportunities and challenges
