Job Description

As the Head of Value Stream Management Office, you will lead the strategic vision and implementation for value streams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Responsibilities include overseeing value stream mapping, optimizing processes using Lean principles, managing tooling, driving continuous improvement, and fostering collaboration across teams. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and a deep understanding of Agile methodologies to transform the organization into a technology-enabled services business. The head will also be responsible for developing and delivering training programs for employees on value stream management principles and practices and analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement and report findings to stakeholders.
Must have:
  • 10+ years of experience in Lean and Agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with effective team management.
  • In-depth understanding of Lean Portfolio Management.
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams.
Good to have:

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT FOR US

To further support, enable and drive this journey we're transitioning to a horizontal delivery model, aligned to client outcomes and are now recruiting for a Head of Value Stream Management Office Management to establish the vision, strategy and operating principles for the value streams that will deliver the needed outcomes to our clients.

The Head of the Value Stream Management Office will go beyond defining best practice approaches to ensure a holistic approach that defines how the organization identifies, navigates, implements and operates their value streams

As Head of the Value Stream Management Office, you will be a key member of the Operations organization Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer and you will provide support to the Outcome Stream Leads and will work closely with the Head of Transformation and Business Management.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the VMO's strategic vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall goals.
  • Value Stream Mapping and Analysis: Oversee the creation and analysis of value stream maps, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Architecture: Define and maintain enterprise architecture for the service. Drive consistency across multiple value streams. Enable and ensure repeatability and scalability across value streams.
  • Optimize Flow: Uses Lean principles and metrics like flow time, flow efficiency, and lead time to improve how quickly and effectively work gets done via the value streams
  • Tooling: Own the identification, implementation and maintenance of the toolset required to operate the value chain, working closely with the Platform value stream
  • Governance and Transparency: Uses data and dashboards to make progress visible, and to support informed decision-making and prioritization.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within value streams, focusing on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Change Management: Facilitate and support change management initiatives within value streams, ensuring buy-in and adoption of new processes and practices.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Facilitates collaboration across product, engineering, platform, marketing, finance, etc., all working toward common goals, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, business units, and external stakeholders.
  • Best Practices: Stay up to date on industry best practices and trends in value stream management, ensuring that the VMO remains at the forefront of innovation.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for employees on value stream management principles and practices.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze value stream data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, and report findings to stakeholders.
