Climax Studios is seeking a skilled Lead Artist with 5+ years of console development experience, proven leadership, and a passion for AAA game visuals. You'll lead the team in crafting innovative experiences and have a strong understanding of current-gen technology. This is a fully onsite role in Edinburgh.

Description

Climax is one of the leading creative lights of independent games development with an outstanding line of top published titles. It truly is an exciting and inspiring place to work as you'll be based out of our new Edinburgh studio based in the heart of the city overlooking the historic castle.

We are looking for an experienced and multi-talented Lead Artist with the ability to conceive, create and lead the team in creating innovative experiences via artistic visuals for AAA titles. Proven experience in generating a diverse range of styles, technical expertise with current gen’ technology and / or illustration skills are certainly of benefit.

This role is fully onsite.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience in console development with at least 2 shipped titles and one as a Lead Artist.
  • Effective visual and verbal communication skills when directing internal or external teams or individuals.
  • Excellent resource management and judgement whilst assigning artists of varying skill sets to the numerous projects in the studio.
  • Comfortable liaising with and presenting to clients in an authoritative and professional manner.
  • A self motivated team-leader who is outgoing, friendly, gregarious with attention to detail and a passion for delivering the best possible game experience.
  • Autonomous in the respect of managing deadlines & budgets, with excellent time management skills.
  • Experience of managing art teams effectively and in a timely fashion.
  • 2-3 years experience developing and implementing solid art production pathways.
  • The ability to find creative solutions when troubleshooting and assessing risks.
  • A good understanding of cutting edge artistic techniques and tools and the ability to implement them into current practical practices.
