We are currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer I who will work on the front end and be responsible for building flexible, metadata driven user interfaces across the Phenomenex platform. User Interface and User Experience are the key drivers helping us to achieve our vision. We care deeply about creating something that feels right in every detail, and we’re looking for developers with a passion for front-end components to help us bring the next generation Sitecore based eCommerce website and related systems to life. Are you ready to help us build UI Architecture that, much like its platform counterpart, enables rapid iteration, high availability, and a fast & delightful experience? This is a hybrid position requiring 50-75% in office and 25-50% at home with possibility of international travel 1-2x per year.
What we’ll get you doing:
- Evolve existing User Interfaces to increase interactivity, intuitiveness, performance and overall user delight.
- Working closely with our Product Owners, Project Managers, UX/UI team and other engineers to analyze new feature requirements and break down high-level features into tasks and timelines.
- Collaborate with backend leads to establish workflows and APIs
- Have a commitment for quality and writing clean, solid, readable code that scales and performs well
- Participate in the development of a schedule and effort estimates for implementation which ensures on time delivery of releases that meets/performs to technical and functional/non-functional requirements.
- Rigorously educate yourself with the latest development techniques and best practices
The essential requirements of the role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field experience.
- 6-9 years of experience as a Frontend Developer using technologies including core web fundamentals - Javascript (ES6 and later), Angular 10+, CSS, HTML, jQuery, Bootstrap, node.js, REST APIs
- 6-9 years of experience developing with responsive and Material Design as well as CSS pre-processors (SCSS, SASS, etc.) and architecture patterns like BEM, SMACSS, or other
- 6-9 years of experience with Cloud technologies especially Azure cloud technologies – Azure Web App, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Virtual Machines, App Services, Azure Functions, etc.
- 6-9 years of strong working knowledge of various SDLC practices, concepts, and techniques, including Agile Scrum and Agile tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Miro), GIT, and BDD, Documentation.
- 6-9 years of solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions, web applications including security, session management, etc.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience with .NET, C#, MVC, Sitecore JSS, GraphQL , digital and web technologies such as content management systems (Sitecore), CRM, product catalogs, and e-commerce tools (a plus)
- A constant learner with a passion current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, frameworks, including performance, security and usability, SPA, and SEO
- Understanding of authorization frameworks, digital and web technologies such as Sitecore CMS, DAM, e-commerce tools, CRM, and product catalogs (a plus).
