Summary

In technology strategy at PwC, you will specialise in developing and implementing strategic plans to leverage technology for business growth and innovation. You will analyse market trends, assess organisational needs, and provide guidance on technology investments and initiatives. Working in this area, you will collaborate with stakeholders to align technology strategies with overall business objectives to increase utilisation of technology resources, driving competitive advantage.

PwC’s Technology Strategy & Transformation practice is aimed at providing client solutions that are directly related to the CIO/CTO, managing/transforming business functions, providing diligence with respect to technologies involved and supporting cloud transformation projects. We are looking for candidates with experience and skillset in two or more of the following areas:

  • Cloud Strategy:
    • Conduct thorough business cases to understand the cost-benefit analysis for cloud modernization scenarios, along with building financial models for ROI / TCO analysis.
    • Evaluate and classify applications for cloud migration and establish R-Lane and wave plan strategies for efficient migration.
    • Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services and solutions based on specific business requirements.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless alignment and execution of migration activities.

  • Cloud Architecture:
    • Design secure, resilient, and scalable cloud architectures for infrastructure and cloud-native applications.
    • Knowledge of containerization technologies and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
    • Familiarity with various integration patterns to seamlessly connect cloud with legacy systems.
    • Showcase expertise in at least one major hyperscaler's services, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Cloud Landing Zone and Environment Design:
    • Architect and design cloud landing zones that establish a secure and scalable foundation for cloud environments.
    • Define and implement best practices for access control, identity and access management, and network security within the cloud environment.
    • Incorporate cost optimization strategies into cloud environment designs, such as rightsizing instances and utilizing reserved instances or savings plans.

  • Cloud FinOps and Operating Model:
    • Formulate cloud operating models to streamline the management and operations of cloud environments.
    • Define clear roles and responsibilities, establish governance frameworks, select appropriate tooling, and develop operational processes.
    • Implement cost optimization strategies, such as rightsizing instances, leveraging spot instances, and using cost monitoring and alerting tools.

  • DevOps Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, encompassing continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.
    • Experience with popular DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible.
    • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and methodologies, and the ability to implement them effectively in a cloud environment.

Skills & Responsibilities

The incumbent should be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge in supporting cloud transformation programs through the design and implementation of cloud strategy, migration, and operations:

  • Act as a trusted subject matter expert on cloud strategy, providing guidance, recommendations, and expertise to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Architecture and Application Development teams to establish and enforce cloud standards, best practices, and roadmap capabilities.
  • Conduct assessments of existing cloud environments, analyzing architecture, configurations, and resource utilization.
  • Identify opportunities for cloud optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement with thorough analysis and evaluation of cloud services and technologies.
  • Drive the implementation of cloud governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate and select cloud service providers and vendors based on specific business requirements and long-term goals.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings with key stakeholders to gather valuable information and insights.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and implementation plans to clients in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Provide guidance and support during the implementation phase, working closely with client teams to ensure the successful execution of cloud initiatives.
  • Support the creation of RFPs and proposal responses, contribute to practice development activities, and provide support for thought leadership initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a cloud consultant, designing, developing, and delivering technology solutions for customers.
  • Strong expertise in core cloud services, including storage, networking, firewalls, DNS, databases, applications, data analytics, compute, and container services.
  • Strong familiarity leading cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, and other progressive cloud/container vendors.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in design patterns, architecture best practices, cost optimization strategies, and delivering purpose-built solutions.
  • Experience in designing and implementing on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud solutions.
  • Proven experience in preparing cost estimations, business case and financial models for cloud solutions.
  • Expertise in cloud migration strategies and familiarity with commonly used tools for migration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively interpret and analyze complex data sets.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and a strategic mindset.
  • Proficiency in utilizing analytical tools and software, including Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to develop proposal approaches, pricing structures, and assemble teams.
