As a Network Team Leader at EveryMatrix, you will lead a global team of network engineers, overseeing network infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance (on-premises and cloud-based). Responsibilities include team management (performance evaluations, hiring, onboarding), operational task supervision, vendor liaison, incident management, contributing to infrastructure strategy, and ensuring network stability, security, and performance. You'll also present team status reports and foster a culture of feedback and professional development.
Must have:
  • Lead global network engineering team
  • 10+ years technical background, 2+ years management
  • Expert in routing, switching, & protocols (OSPF, BGP)
  • VPN, firewall configuration & management experience
  • Linux OS & microservices knowledge
Good to have:
  • CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP certifications
  • ITIL process understanding
  • Software defined networking experience

We are looking to add a passionate and dedicated Network Team Leader to our team in Bucharest!

About the job:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Network Team Leader to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of networking technologies, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent leadership skills to guide and support the network engineering team. The Network Team Leader will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our networks, both on-premises and cloud-based.

What You'll get to do:

  • Lead a global team of network engineers;
  • Effectively communicate with the team members, peers and management;
  • Nurture the culture of feedback by scheduling individual meetings (1to1's), proposing trainings and mentoring the team members;
  • Supervise operational tasks and assure they are done within agreed SLAs;
  • Present team achievements, initiatives and status reports for upper management;
  • Responsible for performance evaluations and salary negotiations;
  • Assure efficient hiring and smooth onboarding of new network team members;
  • Ensure availability on network team level by supervising on-call shifts and vacations;
  • Adhere to business standards and processes, promotes and monitor them on infrastructure level;
  • Serve as the primary liaison for vendors within scope and take part in managing contractual relationships and renegotiations;
  • Constantly check for potential improvements that lead to increased efficiency and resiliency;
  • Supervise network team incidents and participate in elaborating a clear root cause analysis and complete mitigation plan;
  • Contribute to mid and long term infrastructure strategy;
  • Coordinate with all parties(clients, peers, vendors etc.) to ensure seamless operations and projects delivery;
  • Act as a main stakeholder and facilitates Infrastructure team projects and initiatives;
  • Supervise technical decisions and coordinates network engineers into achieving goals;
  • Responsible for network devices lifecycle management and patch management;
  • Supervise network capacity management and assure buffer for business growth;
  • Ensure accurate monitoring of network devices;
  • Coordinate and organize network team knowledge base;
  • Other requirements raised by management;

What You need to shine:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field(engineering, mathematics, IT);
  • Minimum of 10 years of technical background with various network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) and at least 2 years in a people management role;
  • Excellent knowledge of routing, switching and network protocols (DHCP, ARP, dot1q, OSPF, BGP);
  • Extensive experience on configuring and managing VPN solutions(site-to-site, Remote access, IPSEC, SSL);
  • Previous experience on managing firewall devices;
  • Knowledge of Linux OS and microservices;
  • Experience with software defined networking is a plus;
  • Nice to have: Networking certifications or hands-on experience with CCNA/ CCNP, JNCIA/ JNCIS/ JNCIP are a plus;
  • Solid understanding of ITIL processes(certification is a plus);
  • Availability for on-call work schedule;
  • Fluency in English, both written & spoken;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Strong analytic and research skills;
  • Problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to accept and adjust to changes – agile;
  • Oriented to details;
  • Passionate about technology.
