As a Producer for the Player Investment team, you'll be responsible for planning and managing the execution of feature development for Apex Legends, focusing on competitive gameplay and player progression. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality features, and actively identify and address any roadblocks or inefficiencies. You'll be a key driver for feature development, from initial requests through release, feedback, and iteration.
Must have:
  • 4+ years of experience as a Producer on AAA games
  • Experience with GaaS, live tuning, and frequent title updates
  • Expertise in building and maintaining schedules with cross-functional dependencies
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong understanding of game development methodologies
  • Experience with waterfall and agile planning methods
  • Proactive tendencies and a sense of urgency
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence

Competitive gameplay and our player’s mid- and long-term progression are the core focus of the Player Investment team. As a Producer for the Player Investment team, you are responsible for planning and managing the execution of feature development in these important game areas. While embracing our player and gameplay-first philosophy, help create a best-in-class experience for our players.

You will create a plan to execute on long- and short-term goals. You are an excellent cross-functional partner that values and facilitates communication, are adept at identifying and mitigating risks, and have a masterful understanding of dependency chains. You will partner closely with our Feature Development, Quality Verification, Product Management, Analytics, and Content teams to deliver excellent outcomes.

What you’ll do...

  • In partnership with product, design, and technical directors / leads, drive development for multiple concurrent features with staggered release windows.

  • Partner with team leads to understand their challenges and identify impediments to success, and ensure development is on track, on quality and aligned with goals.

  • Establish and maintain the team’s schedule and scope/capacity plans.

  • Focus on development processes, identifying inefficiencies and introducing development process improvements.

  • Be a conduit of communication, bring clarity between departments, and provide support to the team in a variety of different capacities.

  • Maintain and clearly communicate day-to-day priorities that align with overall game/feature vision.

  • Work with the Production team and department leads, identifying and informing the team of any issues or needs.

  • Look at long term strategies for any potential roadblocks and proactively address them.

  • Drive features from initial requests through release, feedback, iteration and maintenance.

  • Combat inertia, act as a force to keep moving things forward.

  • Partner effectively with other producers to support overall efforts of the department and help define and encourage production best practices.

Ideally you will have...

  • 4+ years of experience as a Producer on AAA game/s through the full development cycle, from concept to ship.

  • Experience with the highly-iterative nature of GaaS, live tuning, and frequent title updates.

  • Expertise in building, maintaining and delivering against a schedule that considers cross-functional dependencies.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to juggle many things at once.

  • Empathy for fixing the problems of others, respect for others’ time.

  • A strong understanding of game development methodologies.

  • Experience working with waterfall and agile planning methods.

  • Proactive tendencies, a sense of urgency, and a desire to get things done.

  • Ability to self-motivate and help motivate others.

  • Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.

  • Intense passion for helping people and teams achieve their goals.

    • $107,600 - $147,100 CAD

  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento)

    • $122,400 - $176,300 USD

In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
