Job Description

Production Supervisors at DNEG are responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of production, including crew and department scheduling and tracking. They ensure the projected parameters for production goals, quotas, and schedules are met. They work closely with Production Coordinators, Department Supervisors, and Lead Artists to maintain the proper amount of resources throughout the project. Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, expert production management, critical scheduling and resource allocation, effective communication, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and financial management.
Must have:
  • Proven project management experience from concept to completion
  • Experience in the animation industry, including production experience
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Experience with Shotgun
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
  • Experience in database work
  • Experience in managing artists and clients
  • Knowledge of FTP software
  • Aptitude for learning new software
Good to have:
  • HTML / Wiki skills
  • Knowledge of Filemaker
  • Overseas animation experience

Production Supervisors at DNEG manage the day-to-day operation of the production including crew scheduling, department scheduling and tracking. Our Supervisors are responsible for ensuring the projected parameters for production goals, quotas and schedule are met and/or reset as required for each department.  You will work closely with the Production Coordinators, Department Supervisors and Lead Artists to maintain the proper amount of resources throughout the current project.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Strategic Leadership and Team Management: Provide clear direction, build a positive team culture, and foster collaboration within the department.
  • Expert Production Management: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the production pipeline, utilize tools effectively, and produce accurate and timely reports.
  • Critical Scheduling and Resource Allocation: Develop and maintain efficient schedules, manage department resources, and partner with clients to optimize staffing.
  • Effective Communication and Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships, communicate clearly and concisely, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making: Analyze complex issues, make informed decisions, and implement solutions that drive project success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seek feedback, identify opportunities for improvement, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Financial Management: Collaborate with producers to manage budgets, estimate resources, and optimize cost-efficiency.

 

Job Requirements 

 

  • Proven project management experience – from concept to completion
  • Proven experience in the animation industry, including production experience on traditional 2D and 3D projects
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Experience with Shotgun
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word & Google Suite
  • Experience in database work
  • Experience in managing artists and clients
  • Knowledge of FTP software
  • Aptitude for learning new software
Additional Skills 
  • HTML / Wiki skills
  • Knowledge of Filemaker
  • Overseas animation experience
