The Energy Plants Services Manager is a member of the Energy Plants and Maintenance Operations team in the Reedy Creek Energy Services (RCES) organization. RCES Cast Members work on behalf of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD) designing, operating, and maintaining CFTOD-owned utility systems across the Walt Disney World (WDW) Resort.
You will provide leadership to the Cast Members operating the Energy Plants across the WDW Resort and provide ownership of the mechanical and electrical systems within the central energy plants including piping distribution systems for chilled water, hot water, and compressed air.
You will report to Manager, District Plants and Utility Maintenance Operations. This is a full-time 2nd Shift (2PM-11PM) position on-site in Orlando, FL.
Lead the daily operation of energy plants supplying a combination of Chilled Water, Hot Water, Compressed Air, and power generation to the WDW Resort.
Plan, budget, and complete routine and non-routine maintenance and outage activities within approved budgets.
Lead a culture of safety through active and caring engagement with Cast Members to support the vision that no one gets hurt.
Manage a team of Unionized Cast Members who operate and maintain the Energy Plant(s).
Coordinate with internal RCES departments on large improvement projects located inside energy plants.
Procure repair parts and services to maintain assigned equipment.
Partner with clients to develop a mutual understanding of plant capabilities and customer requirements.
Provide current operating information to the Engineering Department for their use in planning alterations and upgrades to plant equipment.
Prepare accurate Regulatory Compliance reports.
Coach and assist team members with career development plans.
8+ years in the operation and maintenance of plant and utility equipment including Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Chillers, Air Compressors, Hot Water Boilers, Fuel Storage, and plant support equipment.
Have or obtain, within 90 days of hiring, an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Universal Certification.
Experience leading and implementing change.
Excellent written and verbal skills with experience communicating with all levels of internal and external customers.
Proficiency with computer software packages, in particular with Graphical User Interfaces that control utility or industrial equipment.
Proficiency using an Enterprise Asset Management System to: procure repair parts, operating supplies and multiple outside services; manage maintenance actions and personal; and coordinate the Preventative Maintenance Program.
Comfort level with working in different work environments, including outdoors and in a plant environment.
Must be available to work outside normal work hours in response to job demand, equipment availability, and system/equipment emergencies.
Proficiency using Maximo for Utilities EAM system.
Familiarity with ASHRAE Guidelines and Standards.
Understanding of plant control/communication systems and critical path processes within an Energy Plant environment.
Bachelor's degree or related experience is preferred.
