Job Description

About Glean

We’re on a mission to make knowledge work faster and more humane. We believe that AI will fundamentally transform how people work. In the future, everyone will work in tandem with expert AI assistants who find knowledge, create and synthesize information, and execute work. These assistants will free people up to focus on the higher-level, creative aspects of their work.

We’re building a system of intelligence for every company in the world. On the surface, you can think of it as Google + ChatGPT for the enterprise. Under the hood, our platform is the connective tissue between AI and knowledge. It brings all of a company’s knowledge together, understands it at a deep level, provides industry-leading search relevance over it, and connects it to generative AI agents and applications.

Glean was founded by a seasoned team of former Google search and Facebook engineers who saw a need in the enterprise space for their technical depth and passion for AI. We’re a diverse team of curious and creative people who want to help each other get big things done—so we can help other teams do the same.

We're backed by some of the Valley's leading venture capitalists—including Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed, and General Catalyst—and have assembled a world-class team with senior leadership experience at Google, Slack, Facebook, Dropbox, Rubrik, Uber, Intercom, Pinterest, Palantir, and others.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Salesforce Developer with over 5 years of experience in Salesforce development and administration. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Salesforce best practices, technical design, and custom solution development.

As a Salesforce Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance, customize, and optimize Salesforce solutions, ensuring they align with our business goals and growth strategies. You will play a key role in developing and implementing Salesforce solutions, including the integration of third-party tools and ensuring seamless data flow between systems. You will also be responsible for maintaining the security, performance, and functionality of all Salesforce applications, including troubleshooting and resolving any system issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components.

  • Optimize application performance by identifying bottlenecks and troubleshooting issues arising during deployment or daily operation.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve integration issues between Salesforce and third-party tools or external systems, ensuring smooth data flow and business processes.
  • Write and maintain comprehensive test classes to ensure code quality and coverage for Apex classes and triggers, validating functionality and performance of all custom Salesforce solutions.
  • Ensure Salesforce governance parameters (storage, code coverage, etc.) are maintained and adhered to.
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of data flows between systems, ensuring that all integrations are functioning optimally and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Develop and implement solutions for complex quoting, product configurations, pricing, and discount models using Salesforce CPQ.
  • Work with functional consultants and business groups to identify project requirements, estimate costs in terms of time, money, and other resources.
  • Manage pricing rules, product bundling, approval workflows, and discount schedules, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve CPQ performance issues, providing ongoing support for large deal configurations, renewals, and approval workflows.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Understand the overall Salesforce architecture and business use cases to develop optimized solutions.
  • Develop customized solutions within the Salesforce platform, ensuring system limitations are respected.
  • Test the stability and functionality of applications and solutions, ensuring robust performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs to ensure a smooth and efficient Salesforce system.
  • Ensure data security and application integrity by adhering to Salesforce best practices and security standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, and security models.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP) and integration techniques.
