Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain software and systems to support the security of Google network infrastructure. You will work on projects such as optimizing the performance of hardware crypto offload protocol, delivering hardware crypto offload to new NIC platforms, and designing and implementing security for the next generation of Machine Learning (ML) switching platforms and Google's top-of-rack switches.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5 years of software development experience
3 years of experience with testing, maintaining, or launching software products
1 year of experience with software design and architecture
3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks
3 years of experience with software development in C++

Good to have:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field
1 year of experience in a technical leadership role
Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
3 years and above of experience with software development in C++.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
Experience developing accessible technologies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Optimize performance of hardware crypto offload protocol that is used in the majority of Remote Procedure calls at Google.
Deliver hardware crypto offload to new NIC platforms.
Deliver security design and implementation for the next generation of Machine Learning (ML) switching platforms.
Deliver security design and implementation for the next generation of Google's top-of-rack switches.
