Job description-Senior Technical Gaming Artist - Unity
The Technical Art role requires an understanding of game production principles, experience supporting content production pipelines, expertise using 3D authoring packages such as Maya, strong coding skills, and most importantly, a high desire to make processes better and people’s lives easier with an extremely good understanding and working with procedural generation.
The Senior Technical Artists will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the technical pipeline on all projects, writing tools for artists for a variety of software packages, solving technical issues that arise, and ensuring the quality of the final product.
Technical art is a broad term, and qualified candidates will be responsible for serving as the bridge between art, animation, production and programming, examples of the duties include (and not limited to) the following: setup/maintain/standardize/improve the content pipeline, create easy to use tools, rig assets for animation/gameplay, troubleshoot technical production issues that arise, write efficient shaders, optimize game performance, and ultimately ensure the quality and timely delivery of the final product. Technical artist will work with art/design disciplines and the engineering team and help provide communication and cohesion between all groups.

Required Skills:
1. Unity3D Terrain Development: Proven experience in creating and manipulating detailed terrains in Unity.
2. Shader Programming: Strong expertise in writing custom shaders (HLSL, GLSL, or ShaderLab) for various in-game effects,
including environment and lighting.
3. Plugin and Asset Management: Experience with third-party Unity plugins like Enviro3 and asset management
from the Unity Asset Store.
4. Problem Solving: Ability to identify and troubleshoot visual inconsistencies, plugin-related issues, and technical roadblocks.
5. Collaboration: Experience working in a collaborative environment with designers, artists, and other developers.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in game development, particularly with a focus on environmental realism.
2. Knowledge of parallax occlusion mapping and alternative shaders for terrain rendering.
3. Familiarity with designing and developing both real-world and fictional environments. Show Less
