The Software Engineering Intern will develop and maintain software frameworks, automation tools, and infrastructure for observability, testing, deploying, and improving engineering productivity. The internship duration is up to 6 months, with up to 40 hours during the summer break and up to 20 hours during the school session. The intern will need to communicate progress and any need for support to the supervisor and team. Must have:
  • Strong problem-solving and ability to learn quickly.
  • Inventiveness and curiosity.
  • Working knowledge of the Linux operating system.
  • Proactively communicate progress and roadblocks.
  • Dedication and passion for technology.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages.
Good to have:
  • Completed coursework in networking, algorithms and data structures is highly desired.
  • Desired exposure to DevOps and Containerization tools.
  • Solid academic record (at least 3.0 or better).
  • Prior experience working in a team.

Job Title: Software Engineering Intern
 
Duration of Internship: up to 6 months (up to 40 hours during summer break and up to 20 hours in school session)
 
Location: onsite Markham, Ontario, Canada 
  
Responsibilities:  
The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining software frameworks, automation tools, and infrastructure for observability, testing, deploying, and improving engineering productivity. The desired length of employment is 6 months.  
  
Requirements:  
  • Strong problem-solving and ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment. 
  • Inventiveness and curiosity.  
  • Working knowledge of the Linux operating system from a developer perspective.
  •  Proactively communicate progress, roadblocks, and any need for support to the remote supervisor and team.
  • Dedication and passion for technology 
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, and Python. 
  • Desired class level: junior/senior year undergraduates or master's degree. 
  • Desired majors: Computer Science/Engineering. Math and Science majors who possess the necessary skills are also encouraged to apply. 
  • Completed coursework in networking, algorithms and data structures is highly desired. 
  • Desired exposure to DevOps and Containerization tools, such as Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker. 
  • Solid academic record (at least 3.0 or better) 
  • Prior experience working in a team is a plus.
  • Great communication and organizational skills
