Job Description

As a Sustainability Senior Consultant at PwC, you will advise clients on ESG regulatory components, particularly CSRD and Taxonomy Regulation. Responsibilities include understanding complex business contexts related to ESG, staying updated on market trends and regulations, engaging in client workshops, performing ESG gap analyses against new standards, and developing compliance-focused processes. You will contribute to business development within PwC's sustainability practice, leveraging strong research, analytical, and report-writing skills. Proficiency in German is required.

Must have:

University degree in ESG-related subject
1-2 years ESG experience
EU & Romanian environmental legislation knowledge (plus)
Excellent analytical & report writing skills
Proficiency in German
High proficiency in MS Office

Job Description & Summary

Brief of your day
As a Sustainability Senior Consultant with German, you will provide advice on ESG regulatory components on topics such as CSRD and Taxonomy Regulation. In addition to working for clients, you will also contribute to the business development of PwC in your area of expertise. You will develop and apply new techniques in the field of sustainability, ESG risk management, including climate risk and others.

What you will be doing:

Understanding complex business contexts, with focus on ESG (environmental, social and governance processes)
Keeping up to date on marketplace and ESG regulatory topics and trends, and apply insights during the delivery of engagements as new ESG regulations emerge and laws change
Engaging on business level discussions/ workshops with clients and delivering ESG projects
Performing of ESG gap analyses by reference to new standards, regulations and guidelines issued by local and European authorities
Developing or implementing new processes, policies or solutions aimed at ensuring both compliance and operational efficiency
Application of common sense / commercial awareness / knowledge obtained during the project to assess the quality and reliability of information supplies

What we need from you:

University degree in environmental science, engineering, business/finance, economics, geography, biology, or another ESG-related subject
1-2 years experience with ESG
Gained experience with EU and Romanian environmental legislation is a plus
Excellent critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and problem-solving abilities
Strong research, analytical and report writing skills
High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong personal initiative, agility and resourcefulness
High proficiency in German
