Technical Support Engineer - Azure Billing and Subscription

Job Description

As a Technical Support Engineer in Microsoft's Customer Service & Support team, you'll own, troubleshoot, and resolve customer technical issues related to Azure billing and subscriptions. You'll collaborate across teams, leverage troubleshooting tools, and participate in building peer communities, sharing your knowledge. The role involves identifying product defects and escalating them for improvement. You'll develop technical and professional proficiency through training. This hybrid role allows for up to 50% remote work. Responsibilities include investigating and solving customer issues, contributing to product improvements, and participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives. You'll work with Azure and cloud technologies, utilizing Excel skills (pivot tables, filters, lookups).
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field and relevant experience
  • Azure Fundamentals certification or equivalent knowledge
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, filters, lookups)
  • Problem-solving and collaboration skills
  • Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements
Good to have:
  • Experience with Azure and/or competing cloud products

In the Customer Service & Support (CSS) team we are looking for people with a passion for delivering customer success. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will own, troubleshoot and solve customer technical issues. This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND experience in technical support, technical consulting, or information technology
  • OR extensive experience in technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience.
  • OR equivalent experience

 

Experience in one or more of these areas is desirable: 

  • Azure Fundamentals certification, familiarity with Azure and/or compete cloud products.
  • Knowledge of Excel: pivot tables, filters & look-up function.

 

Language Qualification
English Language: confident in reading, writing and speaking.

 

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Responsibilities

• Response and Resolution: You own, investigate and solve customer technical issues, collaborating within and across teams and leveraging troubleshooting tools and practices.
• Readiness: You lead or participate in building communities with peer delivery roles and, where appropriate, share your knowledge.
• You develop specific technical and professional proficiency to enable you to resolve customer issues, through training and readiness.
• Product/Process Improvement: You identify potential product defects and escalate appropriately to resolve, contributing to Microsoft product improvements.
