With a party of veteran IOI guild members and new wizards and sorceresses of the industry, we are building an ambitious new IP for console and PC that will revolutionize the online fantasy RPG genre. We are seeking a Technical UI Designer who is able to focus on hands-on implementation. With a strong studio culture dedicated to high quality of life, supported by transparent communication and supportive engagement with our team members, we are seeking individuals who can see the vision and take the leap on this new adventure that promises to deliver a one-of-a-kind gameplay experience for players.

What you will do:

    • Implement UI screens into our in-house Glacier engine, using a custom scripting language specially built for our engine
    • Collaborate with game designers and engineers in the creation of user interface and user experience to help define and develop games
    • Design UI screens that follow good UX practices, keeping in mind the balance between the needs of the player, systems complexity and production constraints
    • Iterate on look and feel of the UI, incorporating feedback from design, stakeholders, and playtests to produce the most user friendly and visually compelling experience possible
    • Fix bugs and optimize game assets for required performance and to comply with specifications on various platforms


    Who you are:

    • Experience with a scripting language i.e. JavaScript, Lua, ActionScript, or Python
    • Experience with game development, familiarity with a least one major game engine (Unreal, Unity, studio proprietary engines etc.)
    • Has a keen artistic eye with graphic design skills
    • Familiarity with the basics of UX design
    • Ability to respond elegantly to creative changes
    • Ability to maximize result under strong technical constraints
    • A dedicated team player, yet able to work independently
    • Familiarity with an object-oriented language (C++, C#, Java) and Motion Graphic skills is a bonus

    About The Company

    IO Interactive is a 25-year old, AAA independent game studio, creators of HITMAN, Kane & Lynch, Mini Ninjas and Freedom Fighters. We are currently working on Project 007, Project Fantasy, and continue to develop Glacier, our award-winning game engine.


    We are a diverse team of designers, producers, artists, programmers and operations supporters from 40+ different nationalities, working on cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art game design.


    The creative teams involved in producing our games are supported by our tech department, which delivers our own Glacier engine, and the incubation department, which helps the team to prototype new and exciting features, game mechanics, or even brand new IPs.

    IO Interactive was established in September 1998. The IO Interactive technology team consists of programmers, software engineers and mathematicians with considerable experience in game programming and 3D graphics. Graphic designers, artists and animators are recruited from the game and entertainment industry, as well as the best art schools from all over the world.
