About the job:
Technical writers at Google plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the engineering or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Technical writers are responsible for researching and writing documentation for developers, ensuring it explains complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience. This role is specifically focused on Cloud Networking technologies and will require expertise in areas such as DNS, routers, BGP, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and public cloud technologies. The Technical Infrastructure team at Google is responsible for developing and maintaining the infrastructure that powers all of Google's online services, including data centers, network technologies, and platforms. This role is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India or Pune, Maharashtra, India.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with technical documentation
  • Experience with Cloud Application programming interfaces (APIs)
  • Experience with networking protocols or network architecture
Good to have:
  • 10 years of experience as a technical writer
  • Experience with computer networking technologies (DNS, routers, BGP, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers)
  • Experience with public Cloud technologies (Cloud Networking, Compute, ML/AI, data systems)
  • Experience with iptables

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with technical documentation, developer facing, Cloud Application programming interfaces (APIs), networking protocols, or network architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience as a technical writer.
  • Experience with computer networking technologies, such as Domain Name System (DNS), routers, the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing protocol, firewalls and firewall rules including iptables, Virtual Private Networks and cloud-based services, and load balancers and proxies.
  • Experience with public Cloud technologies such as Cloud Networking technologies, Compute technologies, ML/AI technologies, or data systems (e.g., Data Warehousing, Analytics, SQL).
