Job Description

A leading Malaysian bank requires a Test Automation Engineer to contribute to the development of a web/mobile application with microservices backend (Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes) and MySQL database. The role involves working in an Agile team, preparing and executing test cases manually and through automation using the bank's framework (Cucumber/Appian, Selenium WebDriver). Responsibilities include defining and executing the automation test strategy, managing stakeholder relationships, reporting on test status, effort estimation, risk identification and mitigation, creating automated regression tests, and collaborating with the DevOps team. The project involves various integrations with existing bank subsystems.

Must have:

7+ years experience

DB & service level testing
Manual & automation testing

Project description

One of the leading Malaysian banks needs to continue software development work for web, mobile, APIs, database, integration, etc. The deliverables would include a web/mobile app with micro-services (Spring boot+Docker+Kubernetes) back end and MySQL database. There will be various integrations to the current sub-systems of the bank.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to:

Work within an Agile team to deliver quality products as one team

Identify test data required to complete the test activities.

Conduct test case preparation and execution manually and via automation

Understand the bank's automation framework and drive the implementation of the same within the team.

Define and execute the Automation Test strategy.

Successfully manage relationships with all stakeholders, vendors, and third parties.

Report and escalate key risks and issues to management as needed.

Prioritization of automation deliverables based on their ROI.

Reporting on Test Status Report to all respective Stakeholders.

Effort Estimation and reporting on progress.

Identifying Testing Risks and preparing Risk Mitigation Plans.

Create automated regression test scripts and conduct regular maintenance

Perform regular regression runs and work with the DevOps team to build up the testing pipeline

Skills

Must have

We are looking for an experienced Test Analyst with 7+ years of experience having a track record in delivering multiple concurrent, complex projects.

Technical Requirements:

Behaviour-driven development (BDD)

Java

Cucumber/Appian testing framework, Gherkin test-case definition language

Selenium Webdriver

HTML5, DOM model, XML, XPATH

Javascript

Hands-on experience on DB level and service level testing

Working experience in both manual and automation testing

Proven experience in the coordination of many dependencies and multiple demanding stakeholders in a complex, large-scale deployment environment

Working experience on CI/CD and automation pipeline

Proven skills in co-ordination and leadership working with vendors and internal teams

Ability to manage a diverse and challenging stakeholder community

Nice to have

Experience in the financial services sector; especially wealth management.

Excellent oral and written communication skills
