The Analyst, Shopping, Trust and Safety role at Google is focused on ensuring the safety and integrity of Google Shopping. This role involves identifying and addressing fraud and abuse cases, improving user and merchant experiences, and working with product and engineering teams to develop safe and secure features. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing integrations between business objectives and systems, conducting strategic analysis and optimization, managing projects, and influencing business decisions with data-driven insights. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience in data analysis, Trust and Safety, or related fields, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Experience with SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
Good to have:
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with fraud or policy investigations, fraud risk management, Internet advertising, or e-commerce.
  • Experience with ML.

Minimum qualifications:

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will be responsible for improving user and merchant experience on Google Shopping and create positive experience for customers. You will also work with product and engineering teams to make sure that new products and features provide a good, safe experience for users.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement integrations between business objectives and business systems, including designing and building strategies that support these business systems.
  • Conduct strategic analysis, optimize business performance, deliver within product areas including analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing solutions that improve business performance.
  • Manage projects involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, organizational implications, and changing circumstances.
  • Conduct data-oriented analysis, architect metrics, synthesize information, solve problems, and influence business decision-making by presenting insights and market trends.
  • Conduct investigations to catch fraudsters, enforce product policies, learn scam patterns/trends, and identify product vulnerabilities.
