The Associate Talent Producer at Riot Games will manage and contribute to talent development and relationships for EMEA Esports broadcasts. Responsibilities include talent assessment, consulting on assignments, performance evaluation, and coaching. Collaboration with various teams (Product, Publishing, Content Services) is key, as is contributing to story development, budget management, and on-site event logistics. The role requires experience in talent/influencer management, live broadcast production, and budget development, with strong problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will build relationships with on-air talent and partners, advocating for talent interests while meeting product needs. This is a 12-month contract based in Berlin, with potential for travel and work outside standard business hours.

In 2009, Riot released its debut title, League of Legends, and has since become the most-played PC game in the world and a vital driver of the dramatic growth of esports, alongside VALORANT and the VCT leagues around the world. At the core is the EMEA Esports team, responsible for operating all major Riot Esports events, supporting and adhering to global policies for the sport, driving global and regional narratives, and executing our EMEA regional leagues. That’s where you come in.

ASSOCIATE TALENT PRODUCER

As an Associate Talent Producer, you will help manage and contribute to the talent development and relationships related to Riot’s EMEA Esports broadcasts and shoulder content programming. You will collaborate closely with the Esports Product Teams, Publishing, and Content Services to coordinate and develop on-air personalities to deliver world-class esports coverage, increasing audience connection and product sentiment.

You will work with the talent management team on future planning and supporting strategy decisions for EMEA Content Services, as well as global Riot Esports projects. You will collaborate to build and maintain guiding systems to be standardized across the global Riot Esports ecosystem.

Using your keen understanding of broadcast and commentary skills, Riot Esports, and core audience you will help make talent choices as they relate to editorial prioritizations, storytelling, excitement, and fandom. Your relationships and expertise will be critical in building compelling and resonant entertainment experiences for our audiences.

You will work closely with the studio production crew to support on-site talent coordination and prepare logistics.

You will participate in story development and pitch meetings to contribute to our rich esports ecosystem. You will attend and contribute to weekly story meetings and help inform decisions about what stories the team will tell. You will collaborate closely with our Riot Commercial Partner and Publishing teams to staff sponsor integration, press, and content. You will build deep, lasting relationships with on-air talent and partners. You will travel on location to manage and support on-air talent and broadcast efforts.

Working schedule may require nights and weekend hours per production needs. You may also assist with planning and on-site coordination for International Events from time-to-time.

We are currently looking to hire two Associate Talent Producers, though cross-product flexibility is required, one will primarily focus on League of Legends and the second on Valorant. Both roles will be based in Berlin.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess the strengths and weaknesses of on-air talent in the ecosystem.
  • Consult on talent assignments for events.
  • Help maintain and develop core competencies to evaluate performance and coach talent on craft and brand.
  • Ideate on public comms and announcement strategies related to on-air talent.
  • Work with lead and senior producers on tracking budget and spending related to on-air talent.
  • Attend story meetings, read-throughs, rehearsals as needed.
  • Manage live event on-site logistics, comms, and handling of on-air talent.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Talent on Riot best practices and standards and make sure they practiced evenly across projects.
  • Partner with other internal Riot departments, such as Player Management, Comms, Riot Commercial Partners, and Publishing to drive and fulfill org, press, and sponsor requests for talent.
  • Develop and maintain strong and healthy relationships with on-air talent and partners.
  • Advocate for and balance the interests of on-air talent and product needs.
  • Collaborate with teammates to drive diversity, resilience, and a team first winning culture.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in talent or influencer management.
  • 3+ years of experience in production, including live broadcast studio operations.
  • Experience developing multiple production budgets, including tracking expenses and monitoring costs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations during live broadcasts.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience in contract management.
  • 3+ years experience in esports.
  • Extensive knowledge of esports storylines, teams, players and on-air talent.
