Job Description

The Brand Manager - Social Media position will lead Trek’s global social media strategy, ambassador content program, and associated digital content storytelling efforts. The ideal candidate for this role is a motivated self-starter who is  inspired by brand growth through social media, curating best-in-class content, and getting more people on bikes around the globe. This role will be based at Trek headquarters in Waterloo, WI.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute cross-platform channel strategy to reach existing and cultivate new fans of the Trek brand

  • Identify key platforms and set the strategy for the brand’s social media channels with consideration of global and local level marketing
  • Collaborate with creative, product marketing, international marketing, racing teams, and ecomm teams to lead social content strategy for product launches, brand campaigns, and key race moments.
  • Determine and continuously adjust the brand’s social media content strategy to stay relevant and remain a leader within the social media space on key platforms
  • Set, report on, and adapt KPIs for the ever-evolving social media landscape

Content creation and collaboration

  • Create, curate and manage content alongside the Social Media Content & Community Specialist
  • Maintain and grow the relationship with Trek Factory Racing, Lild-Trek, and its associated athletes to curate key brand and racing storytelling moments
  • Work with global teams to help define and refine our global social media strategy that supports campaigns and tells the brand story within our global markets
  • Partner closely with the digital marketing team to ensure that organic and paid social efforts and creative are aligned and complimentarycomplementary
  • Create, lead, and manage an influencer/content creator program identifying relationships that can be leveraged into brand awareness content and overall

Reporting

  • Experience using Sprout Social (or a similar tool) to identify and analyze metrics of success for monthly reporting and ROI.
  • Monitor and advise any changes to how content algorithms and platforms may be changing and deliver insight to creative teams
  • Set, measure, and report upon ROI of Influenecer/content creator program

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or similar
  • Expert understanding of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok , X, LinkedIn, Strava, and Youtube platforms, and backend tools
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in Social Media Management, Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing, or a related field
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with the cycling community through social connections
  • Has a clear understanding of the different demographics found on each of the social platforms we use
  • Open-minded and a quick thinker when decisive changes need to be made on the fly
  • Ability to collaborate with copy, design, and product marketing teams on social development strategy
  • Proven ability to independently capture, edit, and publish content
  • This person must have a great eye for creative that will resonate on social and build the Trek brand.
  • Experience managing and leading a small team.
  • Experience working with marketing analytics, deriving relevant insights, and applying findings
  • Able to get things done quickly, act with a sense of urgency, adapt to changing environments, and maintain a positive attitude throughout
  • Knowledge of the various cycling disciplines and the cycling community is not required, but can play an integral role in the success of this position
