Job Description

The Business Region & Engagement Manager - China Region (Indirect Procurement Director) drives understanding and optimization of all non-BOM 3rd party spend. This role involves establishing a collaborative culture, serving as the single point of contact for procurement topics, gaining stakeholder insights, and identifying opportunities to drive revenue and optimize costs. The role requires bringing business insights to global category management teams, ensuring that business objectives are understood by procurement functions, and driving global procurement initiatives. The manager is also responsible for orchestrating stakeholder-related performance cycles, managing crisis situations, and driving DfX within the scope of the role. The role is within the Indirect Procurement organization.
Must have:
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years’ related experience in Procurement or Supply Chain.
  • Cultural sensitiveness for global business across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Drives understanding and optimization of all non BOM 3rd party spend for the business/market. SM Leads represents Procurement in the Business or Market, has in-depth understanding of the strategy, product portfolio, and is responsible for driving the buy-in, approval, and funding of projects to improve productivity, quality, service level or operational elements.

You are responsible for

  • Establishes a collaborative culture related to Procurement (all 3rd party indirect spend) exemplified by openness, trust, shared action, and an emphasis on mutual long-term benefits to become an Influential and valued Business Partner
  • Is the single point of contact for assigned businesses & Regions on all Procurement related topics covering Demand Management to category strategies with a view to provide procurement solutions for addressing the business challenges.
  • Gains stakeholder insights about Business/ Region objectives, strategies, requirements, and priorities by deep listening and understanding.
  • Builds deep B/R insights and collaborates with the Business Leader and Heads of Finance to identify enterprise-wide opportunities to drive revenue/value generation and operating cost optimization.
  • Brings business insights as input to Global Category Management teams.
  • Leverages and interlink best practices, (cost) category and B/R insights with the situational dossier to constantly challenge status quo and bring compelling solutions to the table which matter to stakeholder priorities.
  • Ensures that B/R objectives and requirements are well understood by all relevant Procurement functions to co-create and improve the (category strategies and programs
  • Drives Global Procurement initiatives into the respective businesses and regions to maximize the benefit at an enterprise level.
  • Provide region and business specific inputs to the design of the global category strategies and make them locally relevant in the implementation in the business and regions.
  • Orchestrates and drives stakeholder related performance cycle incl. escalations across all Procurement activities to meet stakeholder objectives and deliver on agreed plans.
  • SM: Program manages execution of stakeholder related Funnel measures (QxP) and co-creates a future funnel of opportunities
  • Is responsible for crisis management in case of business-critical Supply Base/Supplier/Governance related issues.
  • Drives DfX in own scope.

You are a part of

The Indirect Procurement organization within the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC). Indirect Procurement covers the procurement activities of all indirect (non-product related) materials and services within Philips covering such areas as marketing, IT, facility management and travel, etc.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Typically requires a Master’s degree in Business Administration/ Master degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent
  • Relevant training in SPM and Supply chain preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ related experience (for Master degree) in Procurement, Supply Chain or in related Stakeholder function
  • Cultural sensitiveness, able to do global business across Europe, the Americas and Asia
