Job Description

Apexon seeks a Business Systems Analyst for a long-term contract. Responsibilities include gathering requirements for BI/Datawarehouse projects, experience with ETL/BI tools, data analysis, validation using SQL queries, and performing Fit/GAP assessments. The ideal candidate possesses strong data processing and warehousing knowledge, experience with Python/PySpark, and understanding of the Apache Spark/Hadoop ecosystem. Additional responsibilities include creating data pipelines, data models in cloud environments (like GCP BigQuery), and documenting data pipelines. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with working within an Agile environment. The role involves project estimation, issue resolution, and reporting to leadership.

Must have:

Understanding of data processing and data warehousing
Experience gathering BI/Datawarehouse project requirements
Experience with ETL/BI tools
Data analysis, profiling, and validation using complex SQL
Understanding of Python, PySpark
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Good to have:

Payments/Finance/Accounting Industry Background

Business Systems Analyst

Texas, California, Arizona (Remote)

Long Term Contract

You’ll be responsible for (Responsibilities):

Must have understanding of data processing and data warehousing concepts. Experience with gathering requirements for BI/Datawarehouse project is must
Experience with ETL/BI tools is must
Experience in Data Analysis, Data profiling, Data Validation using complex SQL queries on top of RDBMS/Hadoop- HiveQL, SparkSQL / GCP Big Query etc. for validation of ETL data pipelines
Performing Fit GAP assessments of current/future state data platforms and creating an appropriate transition path/roadmap
Ability to understand code developed using python, pyspark etc
Preferred/Basic understanding of Payments/Finance/Accounting Industry Background
Understanding of Apache Spark/Hadoop ecosystem and the Data Analytics ecosystem
Should be a fast learner and must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment
Experience or understanding of designing data pipelines, data models in a cloud environment like GCP BigQuery or any other Cloud is a plus
Creating source to target mapping documents, data flow diagrams, data models to document data pipelines
Experience with databases, systems integration, application development and reporting
Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), to include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
Works in an Agile environment and continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks
Maintain, track, and collaborate with dev teams to ensure project estimation for delivery
Highlight the bugs and blockers and coordinate with the development and operations team to come up with the best solutions/fixes and document them
Work across internal team in various geo-locations across the world
Weekly and Monthly status reporting to leadership
Having GCP certification or Cloud experience is a plus
Having scripting & coding experience is a plus

You’ll have (Qualification & Experience):

Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.
