Job Description

SoapCentral.com, a leading soap opera content destination, seeks a Content Writer to produce 4-5 insightful articles daily. Responsibilities include analyzing unfolding drama, monitoring controversies and social media trends, pitching story ideas, and ensuring timely content delivery. The ideal candidate possesses 2+ years of experience in entertainment reporting, understands industry terms, is an avid daily soap enthusiast, and excels in time management. Real-time coverage of off-field angles may be required. A Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or Mass Communication is preferred.

The Opportunity

Experience: 1-2 years

Role: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

Write 4-5 articles a day.
Provide insightful analysis of the unfolding drama.
Monitor day-to-day controversies and news centering on the shows, keep tabs on social media trends, and become familiar with Google Trends.
Pitch interesting story ideas.
Open to feedback from the editorial team.
Able to meet deadlines, available for real-time coverage of off-field angles when they’re pushed out
Ensure timely delivery of content to meet publication schedules.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in English/ Journalism/ Mass communication is preferred.
Has at least 2 years of experience in entertainment reporting.
Understands industry terms and has previous success in breaking entertainment reporting.
Applicants must be an avid daily soap enthusiast.
Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
