Role
This is a position that will become part of the core team that sets the creative vision and form for the company. We’re building the company ground up to become a contemporary, multi-disciplinary creative services company that will be focused on luxury, fashion and lifestyle brands and this role is crucial to the effort. This role is meant for someone who wants a wide canvas for creative expressions and believes in a democratic approach to creativity that feels native to audiences. The Creative Director (CD) is expected to evangelise POVs creative philosophy with clients (new & existing) and help develop a culture that fosters great work across creative disciplines.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work with the core team to help establish benchmarks and shape the creative ‘product’ of POV. We are multi-part in our approach and the CD is expected to take lead in ensuring that the creative effort stays true to POVs vision across a combination of design, advertising, digital/social, experiential/innovation projects. Go beyond the standard approach to creative solutions.
- Take lead when pitching for new clients. The idea is to not just manage the creative process but actively engage with potential clients (as part of the new business team) to understand ambitions, articulating the problem/opportunity statements and having a view on the strategic approach being suggested for the brand. The CD is also expected to take lead in presenting the solutions to clients and great presentation skills are mandatory for this role.
- Be a playing captain and take full ownership of the creative product – craft compelling narratives, set high benchmarks for creative forms, and guide, mentor, direct the creative effort. This includes raising the creative bar on existing businesses substantially.
- Actively look at the talent mix to ensure that we have the right combination of creative talent needed to achieve outcomes on brands. We’re strong believers in building teams that can collaborate and achieve creative excellence. This also includes bringing on world-class local and global talent/partners as collaborators for creative projects under development.
- Actively champion creative work that draws from culture. We live in a fertile environment where creativity cannot be templated and the CD is expected to be proactively look at how our work can shape and inform culture.
Experience/Qualification
- 10-12 years of experience with an Advertising/Design/Digital/Social /Experiential/Innovation company. We’re looking for Creative Directors who come from a writing background ideally. However, that is not mandatory and more importance will be given to the existing body of work.
- Showcase a portfolio that demonstrates a medium agnostic and multi-creative approach across international and Indian brands. Must have exposure to brands in the Luxury, Fashion, Beauty and/or Lifestyle categories.
Additional Notes
Role is a full time one based out of Mumbai, India.
The candidate may need to travel within India and/or internationally for creative and/or production projects.
