Job Description

Soap Central seeks a Daily Soap Writer to create 2-3 features/news stories daily (500-2500 words) on General Hospital, Y&R, DOOL, and B&B. The role requires 5+ years of watching experience, strong writing skills, in-depth knowledge of soap opera narratives, and familiarity with social media trends for content sourcing. The writer will contribute at least 50 articles monthly and suggest unique ideas to boost pop culture coverage. Excellent English (American) is crucial.

Must have:

5+ years soap opera viewing experience
Strong writing skills & understanding of soap plots
Knowledge of social media trends & content sourcing
Excellent English (American) language skills
Produce 2-3 articles daily (500-2500 words)
Minimum 50 articles per month

The Opportunity

Experience: 1-2 years

Role: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

Write 2-3 features/ news stories a day (Between 500-2500 words) mainly around the 4 popular US Daily Soaps i.e General Hospital, Y&R, DOOL and B&B
Minimum of 50 articles contributed monthly
Must have at least 5 years of watch experience, a strong background in writing and intricate understanding of the narrative and plot lines of the above mentioned soaps.
Knowledge of social media trends and content sourcing via Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok etc.
Must have strong command over the English language, with minimal factual and grammatical errors in writing
Should be active in suggesting unique ideas to boost Pop culture coverage.

Requirements

Excellent knowledge of the Daily Soaps industry and a natural flair for spotting viral topics, with the ability to execute timely articles swiftly.
Excellent command of the English language (American) is a must.
Should have a knack for sentence composition, grammar, and syntax.
Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
