What You'll get to do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data protection compliance into all business processes and projects across the organization, ensuring a “privacy by design and by default” approach.
- Facilitate and act as a central communication point for Group-wide data protection activities, ensuring consistent messaging and coordination across all business units and jurisdictions.
- Monitor compliance with the GDPR and all applicable data protection laws and regulations for the EM Group in different jurisdictions, including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal and regulatory developments.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and risk analyses for new and existing processing activities, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are in place.
- Handle all data subject rights requests (including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability) in a timely and compliant manner.
- Maintain and regularly update records of processing activities (RoPA), ensuring they accurately reflect all of EM Group’s operations and developments.
- Act as the main contact point for all internal and external data protection requests, including due diligence forms, RFPs, and information for drafting of data protection contract appendices.
- Review and draft data protection clauses in client service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and data controller/processor agreements with clients and suppliers, ensuring compliance with GDPR requirements.
- Draft, review, and update data protection policies, procedures, processes, audit frameworks, and guidelines, in consultation with key stakeholders, to ensure ongoing organizational compliance.
- Perform regular audits and assessments to determine whether EM Group needs to alter internal procedures to comply with regulations, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver training and awareness programs for employees on GDPR compliance and data protection best practices.
- Advise on data breach management and incident response, including notification requirements to supervisory authorities and affected individuals, and maintain a data breach register.
- Advise management on data protection risks and strategies, and support the implementation of new technologies or business initiatives from a privacy perspective.
What You need to shine:
- In-depth knowledge of the GDPR and related EU data protection laws.
- Experience in a data protection, legal, compliance, or risk management role.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply legal and regulatory requirements in a business context.
- Experience conducting DPIAs and managing data subject rights requests.
- Familiarity with data processing agreements and contract review.
- Ability to deliver training and awareness sessions to non-expert audiences.
Nice-to-have:
- Relevant data protection or privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CDPO).
- Experience working with multinational organizations or in multiple jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of information security and risk management frameworks.
