Mercer is seeking a Defined Contribution Consultant to join their Retirement team. This hybrid role requires working at least three days a week in the office and is based near a Mercer office anywhere in the U.S. The consultant will support Wealth colleagues and client managers by designing customized solutions for clients with large defined contribution plans. Responsibilities include assisting Senior Consultants with client contact and problem resolution, working on non-investment related client projects such as plan administration, design, vendor searches, operational reviews, fee benchmarking, and merger/acquisition consulting. The role involves leading client-related core projects, understanding project details, and developing consulting and sales skills. Opportunities exist to lead less complex clients and manage project planning.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Retirement team at Mercer. This role will be based near a Mercer office anywhere in the U.S. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Defined Contribution Consultant, you will support other Wealth colleagues and client managers who are working with clients that sponsor large defined contribution plans by designing customized solutions to meet their strategic needs.

You will assist Senior Consultants with day-to-day client contact and problem resolution and work on client projects that focus on delivering non-investment related services, including plan administration assistance, design projects, vendor searches, operational reviews, fee benchmarking, merger and acquisition consulting, etc. In this role, you should know how to do all client-related core projects and understand the details of the results, while simultaneously developing your consulting and sales skills. You may take on the lead role for some of the less complex clients while leading project planning for client relationships.

We will count on you to:

  • Partner with other Wealth colleagues and client managers who are working with clients that sponsor large defined contribution plans by designing customized solutions to meet their strategic needs.

  • Support Senior Consultants with day-to-day client contact and problem resolution.

  • Work on client projects that focus on delivering non-investment related services, including plan administration assistance, design projects, vendor searches, operational reviews, fee benchmarking, merger and acquisition consulting, etc.

  • Know how to do all client-related core projects and understand the details of the results, while simultaneously developing your consulting and sales skills. 

  • Take on the lead role for some of the less complex clients while leading project planning for client relationships.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
