The Director - MR R&D Components Hardware Engineering will lead the MR R&D site at Pune, addressing customer needs and making a difference for patients. The role involves developing the Components hardware engineering department for Hardware Innovations, Services and Solutions. Responsibilities include leading teams, driving change, improving hardware engineering processes, ensuring quality, formulating a long-term vision, managing department capabilities, and overseeing hardware platform and product lifecycles. This role will also be responsible for making decisions related to objectives, policies, processes and budgets for the hardware engineering organization at Pune. This role reports directly to Senior Director of HW Engineering.
Must have:
  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • 15+ years in engineering initially as engineer
  • Track record of releasing product to the market
  • Excellent Communication and People management skills
  • Technical exposure in Mechatronic designs
  • Team player, leadership skills and drive for results
  • Customer focus and Quality mindset
Good to have:
  • Healthcare / MedTech experience is preferred
  • Global mindset and intercultural sensitivity

Director - MR R&D Components Hardware Engineering

The MR Hardware Engineering department at Pune comprises of Architects, Hardware Project Leads, Reliability Expert, Engineering Managers and focused teams of (design) engineers, involved in the execution of various projects and activities around Advanced Development, New Product Introduction, Life Cycle Management and Productivity for MR Patient Table, MR Therapy Sub-Systems and other critical MR Sub-Systems like Cabinets and System Cables. This team at Pune has design ownership of these MR sub-systems and components.

The Director - MR R&D Components Hardware Engineering will play a pivotal role for MR R&D site at Pune, in addressing customer needs and making a real difference for patients and users. This role is responsible for developing the Components hardware engineering department at Pune, to its full potential as a group for Hardware Innovations, Services and Solutions

  • The Director - MR R&D Components Hardware Engineering is a people leader with direct responsibility for the development and growth of his/her teams, is a champion of Philips Culture and is expected to drive change across the MR R&D hardware group at Pune. This role drives continuous improvement of hardware engineering processes in the team and strives for efficiency and the highest standards of quality in everything the team does. This role reports directly to Senior Director of HW Engineering (MR HW R&D Best & Pune)
  • This role will formulate a long-term vision for the department and manage the capabilities of the department within the MR business, to ensure that the business objectives are met with respect to hardware engineering and product development. This role ensures an operating governance within the department that will own the hardware platform and products throughout the entire lifecycle and supports flawless execution of various program
  • This role, in consultation with the MR R&D Senior Director of HW Engineering, determines the objectives, policies, processes and budgets on short and long term for the hardware engineering organization at Pune, makes sure that the organization can meet the objectives and ensures that the roles and responsibilities are put in place

You are fit if:

  • You have Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics Engineering.
  • 15+ years in engineering initially as engineer Program Management and later as Group management role
  • Track record of release product to the market
  • Healthcare / MedTech experience is preferred
  • Excellent Communication skills & People management skills are essential.
  • Technical exposure in Mechatronic designs to make proposals for strategy building for the group is essential.
  • Team player, leadership skills and drive for results
  • Customer focus and Quality mindset
  • Global mindset and intercultural sensitivity
  • Cooperates with relevant stakeholders outside of the department. Works across the borders of the own department

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an office-based role.
