People Partner, Manufacturing (BATAM)
Job Family Summary:
As People Partner, you are responsible for all People Function needs for the assigned Manufacturing site. You will orchestrate, as needed, the overall People Function delivery model to deliver these needs.
It is an important part of the Plant’s Leadership team helping to drive overall plant performance and creating an inclusive and safe work environment.
Your scope of business may change over time depending on business needs.
This role is an Individual Contributor, will be based in BATAM, and will report directly to our Manufacturing People Partnering Lead, Global and will also report day-to-day to our People Partner Lead in Indonesia.
You are responsible for:
- Works closely with Manufacturing management teams to understand and address business issues and supports capability development.
- Deployment of operational workforce planning, talent management, staffing plans, employee relations, engagement, performance management, and compensation processes.
- Drives capability development for the manufacturing site
- Deliver professional guidance to People Leaders on footprint/restructuring) from local/legal perspective
- and is responsible for the local execution
- Provide professional advice on performance improvement plans (PIP) ensuring adherence to local policies and best practices
Employee Relations
- Provide professional guidance and support for performance improvement plans (PIP) ensuring adherence to local policies and best practices
- Oversee and manage absence and sick leave cases, collaborating with People Leaders to ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements. If required engage with authorities and experts (internal or external) on sick leave-related cases.
- Handle disciplinary and grievance cases, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution with fairness and consistency
- Conduct and support GBP investigations
- Act as a point of escalation for complex employee relations matters, providing resolutions that balance compliance with business and employee needs.
- Address and provide advisory support on rewards-related questions ensuring alignment with local guidelines and internal equity
- Supports leaders and managers on organizational change and communications
Labor Relations
- Provides expert advice on implications and execution of Collective Labor Agreements (CLA) ensuring compliance with agreements and in alignment with organizational goals.
- May bring specialized expertise in specific labor relations domains, workforce transition, or compliance with regional labor laws
- May lead (depending on country) negotiations with unions and works councils, ensuring outcomes align with organizational goals while maintaining constructive relationships
- Ensure consistent application of HR and labor relations policies and practices across the organization.
- Monitor adherence to local labor laws, escalating potential risks to appropriate stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 8 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with exposure to employee and labor relations.
- Working experience with employment and labor laws, particularly in manufacturing settings, ensuring compliance with local regulations and collective labor agreements (where applicable)
- Experience in coaching managers & peers on performance and conflict management, disciplinary actions, grievances and illness management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with Employees and People Leaders and People Partners also across countries where needed
- Puts work quality and integrity first with independent decision-making skills
- Experience leading organizational change, business transformation and People Initiatives with measurable impact
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and high-complex situations, providing clear guidance and solutions.
- Fluent in English, additional languages are considered a plus
- This will be an onsite role (Monday - Friday)
